My Path to Practice My career started with family while articling at a boutique firm in Hamilton. I learnt the law governing marriage contracts, separation agreements, access and decision-making, and child and spousal support. My mentor taught me the importance of giving clear, honest advice when clients face the complex issues that arise from the breakdown of a marriage.
A Holistic Approach Family issues often reach well beyond support, decision-making responsibilities for the children and parenting. A marriage breakdown can raise difficult questions about the valuation and division of a business, in addition to succession and estate planning issues, where existing wills, beneficiary designations, and long-term plans must be revisited in light of the separation. I help clients strategically navigate these interconnected issues so decisions made during a separation protect their finances, their business interests, and their family's future.
My Promise to Clients Regardless of the issues my clients face, I always advance solutions rather than prolong disputes, and I work to make a stressful, often overwhelming process feel manageable. My goal is the same on every file: to help clients feel heard and understood, and to give them the clarity and confidence they need to enter the next chapter of their life.
